Welcome to the Ugomo blog!
Ugomo is a free and easy to use workout tracker and analyser.

A small update: we’ve added Go To Address options in our maps. This should reduce the need to scroll around so much. The maps also default to your current location.
After taking a little break, we’re back with some new features and bug fixes:
Weight logging via Twitter
You can log your weight by tweeting something like this: #weight 175 lbs @ugomo
More here: http://ugomo.com/twitter
Autoposting your workouts to Twitter
We now support autoposting your workouts to your Twitter account. If you link your Twitter account with your Ugomo account and opt to tweet your workouts, we will tweet a message like this whenever you log a workout: Biked 35 min 10 sec, 15.3 km Nice ride http://ugomo.com/workout/…

Feedback forum

We just updated the login page. The previous login page had three options; Ugomo login, Twitter login and other 3rd parties (Google, Facebook etc).
The new login page has merged the Twitter login with the other 3rd parties, so there are now 2 options; Ugomo login or 3rd party login (Twitter, Google, Facebook etc).

There are 2 reasons for the change:
The reason for using OAuth for login is improved security (since you don’t have to enter your Twitter password into Ugomo).
If you notice any issues with the new login, please let us know via our contact us page.
We just added a few more activity options (in addition to the previously available - bike, run, swim, walk and other):
- Aerobics
- Yoga
- Elliptical
- Row
- XC Ski
For logging through twitter, use #aerobics, #yoga, #elliptical, #row or #xcski for the new activities. See http://ugomo.com/twitter for all details.
We’re planning on adding strength/weights logging soon too, so stay tuned for that.
We’ve made a small change in the format for logging workouts on twitter. The new format looks like this:
#run 6.2 mi 45 min 165 bpm Nice tempo run @ugomo
The change is that the sport tag should come first in the tweet, instead of @ugomo.
The reason for the change is to better separate tweets that are supposed to log a workout from those that are replies to, or mentions of, the @ugomo twitter user.
The old format will continue to work for a while, but start using the new format anyway since the old format will stop working sometime in the future.

Over the weekend we added a new feature: workout widgets. You can now embed your workout in your blog or web page. Just go to the workout page (for example http://ugomo.com/workout/597), click the “Widget” link, and copy the code that’s show. Finally add this code to your web page.
We also added a “Share” option which makes it super easy to share your workout on a number of sites, like Facebook, MySpace or Twitter.

We’re live! About 2 weeks ago we started accepting registrations. It’s a soft launch in the sense that we’re not doing any real marketing, that will have to wait until we’ve gotten some feedback from our users about what needs improvements or fixing.
I’ve added a few new features and fixes which will go live in a week or 2 hopefully, the main one being able ot login/register using a third party account like Google, Yahoo, Facebook etc.
A quick update; the popular triathlon news/forum site Slowtwitch has licenced and launched a version of the Ugomo training log. You can find it here: http://training.slowtwitch.com
At the time of writing this, around 48000 workouts and 1100 swim/bike and run routes have been logged by the slowtwitch users.
